'Elizabeth Lamont is a Brisbane based visual artist and works with the medium of charcoal drawing. In 2003 she was the recipient of a Churchill Fellowship which enabled her to study at the New York Studio School and to travel throughout the US, France and Italy to research historical and contemporary drawing practice.'

'Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Tasmania and is a recent graduate from Griffith University where she studied a Master of Arts in Visual Art. Elizabeth practices full time as a visual artist and actively engages in a busy exhibition program. Elizabeth is passionate about drawing and uses iconography of dresses to explore themes of memory and identity. Elizabeth documents her own clothing which she regards as an ongoing self portrait. In addition to presenting a paper at the conference an exhibition of Elizabeth's work will be held in Brisbane at the QUT Art Museum.'
